Frank
Agbro was born in Lagos, Nigeria and is a naturalized
US citizen. Franko as he is called in many circles, is
a musician, performer, songwriter, writer and producer.
His production credits include a single No Job
with his first band, the Characters 1991, Sunset
in Nairobi Franko Jazz, You Frankojazz,
Frankojazz Live! featuring Washingtonian jazz
musicians performing live at the Ronald Reagan International
Trade Center, the single Running live at Cool
AID tribute to Cindi Farr to benefit kidney cancer and
retinoblastoma research,, his song You was
also selected in the compilation CD Songs for Cindi
by musicians at Cool Aid. Stop Running, Dad,
Frankojazz features his 10 year old son Julian on drums
and vocals and Franko playing all the other instruments,
bass, guitar percussion and vocals. Franko has also been
asked to write original music for other musicians and
producers. He continues his collaboration with others
while breaking new ground by using his knowledge of Spanish,
French, German, and pidgin English languages in his music.
He draws his inspiration from his family, his community
and his continuous desire to inspire and be inspired allows
him the freedom to take innovative approaches that make
each of his productions unique in their own way. He is
an international traveler whose music serves as is his
guide to living his life, Its not just jazz,
its frankojazz. He plays a Fender electric
bass, a Taylor acoustic electric guitar, percussion and
drums. He occasionally moonlights as a host or MC of social
events and loves to promote and share his authentic musical
collection of African CDs when he spins records
as a deejay. Frankos other interests includes preparing
his specialty dish, Nigerian pepper soup, jogging, biking
and soccer.

Julian
is a young talented 10 year old musican who speaks fluent
English and German. His amazing drumming skills just make
you want to get on the dance floor and dance. He has recorded
a CD with his father and they play almost every single
performance together. Their music is available on Apple
I tunes. Julian plays simple beats that will keep you
dancing but he can also dabble with the complex and off-beat
African and jazz rhythms. His influences come from Rock,
African Rock and jazz.
His
favorite drummers are: Stewart Copeland (The Police),
and Graham Lear (Carlos Santana) and African and Latin
percussion drummers. As of this writing, this young man
has not had formal drum instruction. He has learned his
craft by watching and listening to other drummers, developing
his own sound in the process. He is fun to watch and is
a great inspiration to young children!
